My Christmas pudding mix is really good: the taste is just right. My first attempt at cooking one (thankfully, a 'test' mini-one) was a horrible disaster. The steaming water got into the mix, making a soup rather than a pudding. Tasted ok, but not right - yuck, threw it out.
Next try will involve greaseproof paper and a linen cover for the pudding... and 10 hours of cooking time. Yikes.
